Small sophisticated Italian restaurant. The menu is simple but unique. The dishes are delicious and with interesting flavours. Not your usual Italian restaurant but an authentic one. Portions are good. The menu changes every 4-6 weeks. The staff is competent and really caring. Highly recommend to book in advance. Cool location.

Little gem in an iconic location. We felt the chefs passion and skills in our plates. I would say Italian with a twist, some very tasty dishes, and the sauces!! Make sure to keep some focaccia to not waste any;) Small wine list, but very well chosen wines, the Pecorino we ordered was one of the best we ever drunk! The atmosphere is vibrant, but bare in mind that the place is small, so booking is needed.

Price is on the higher side, but the food and service is really good. Especially the Dorset clams, the spaghetti and the pork chop! A must try if you’re near the area for a nice Italian experience

Visited Legare after living in the area for two years. Amazing service with staff checking in often (but not too often!) to ensure I enjoyed the meal but didn’t feel watched. I had the endive salad, the Dorset crab tagliolini and the pistachio canolo - the server was very helpful with recommendations. Flavours of the food were incredible, interesting and everything tasted super fresh. Would go again and try a different seasonal menu.

Legare is a tiny restaurant near Tower Bridge, and a reservation is highly recommended. We were a group of five and had a nice corner booth. Food: Not ashamed to say we ordered almost the whole menu. As they only had five Carlingford oysters left, we each had one. Lovely! Some other standouts were the salt cod fritti, the pork ribs, and the mozzarella. We each got our own primi – a mix of all pastas. Ox cheek ravioli was good, as was the spaghetti with clams and mussels, and the gnocchi. Though we all felt the salt was a bit heavy handed on the pastas. We shared two secondis – the lamb rump and the brill. In hindsight, the brill is a fish with lots of little bones and not for us, but the lamb was cooked perfectly and was delicious. Dessert too was shared – a cannolo and the lemon meringue pie, with the pie being a bit too tart. Overall: Has a great atmosphere due to its size and we really liked our server, who was Argentinian. As one of our group was too, it was great listening to them converse. Definitely would come back and give it another go.

I had been meaning to check out this place for a long time, but never managed until today ! And I’m so glad I did! Everything was perfect, from the warm welcome to the service throughout my long meal, delivered by 2 incredibly good waitresses, always smiling and anticipating your every need, both very attentive and competent, guessing what you wanted even before you spoke! Wow! The food : i started with 2 oysters, the seabass carpaccio, and the baccala’ mantecato served with gnocco fritto. All of them divine, the oysters were delicious, the sea bass carpaccio was melting in your mouth, bursting with the zest and freshness of the lemon and olive oil; the gnocco fritto was light and not greasy at all, the baccala’ mantecato was in a par with the best Venetian version I tasted when I was there. I also ordered the pappardelle with ox cheek and guanciale ragu’, followed by cotechino with lentils and green sauce . The pappardelle, if I have to find a fault ( there weren’t any by the way ) was the only dish that I did not find incredible. It was very good, but not on a par with everything else I had . The cotechino was fantastic as well as the cannolo siciliano and the chocolate and amaretto mousse. I ended the meal with a recioto, the perfect pairing suggestion after my chocolate mousse ! What can I say : bravissimi tutti, I will come back soon !

We stumbled upon this hidden gem by chance after a long flight while searching for a place to eat. It turned out to be the best decision—the pasta was incredibly delicious, with each bite bursting with flavor. We enjoyed it so much that we ended up ordering more! Special thanks to Tom, who was an excellent host and made our experience even better.
